Social tennis

Social tennis sessions are a great opportunity to meet other players. During social tennis, doubles (ladies, mens or mixed), takes priority over singles. Members organise themselves into fours using the colour scheme to ensure standards are balanced and play one set before mixing in with others.

Monday and Wednesday: 6.30 to 10pm
Saturday and Sunday: 2.00 to 6.30pm

Twilight tennis

Monday night is primarily for players of red and yellow standard, although other members are welcome to participate. Monday nights are a good opportunity for beginners who have completed a coaching program and reached red standard to enjoy doubles play.

Wednesday night is for players of general club standard (yellow, orange and green). During the summer months we hold regular DIY barbecues after play has finished.

Saturday afternoon is open to all members except beginners (white). Afternoon tea with homemade cakes is a highlight of these afternoons for many people.

Sunday afternoon is open to all members and is often a quieter time.

Rules for social tennis
These simple rules help to ensure that all members enjoy their social tennis:
Players should play one set with a tie break at 6 all.If courts are full and several members are waiting, the tie break should be played at 5 all. Members should make up balanced fours of similar playing standards using the colour system as a guide.Members who have been sitting out waiting for a game have priority over members who have just arrived.
