Kingston's premier tennis club

On Sunday 15 October 2006, in delightfully warm and sunny weather, BBC sports personalities Sue Barker and John Inverdale formally opened the new clubhouse in front of a large crowd of members and their families, friends and guest from the LTA and local clubs.

After cutting the ribbon and declaring the clubhouse open, Sue presented John Lewis and Meryl Lloyd with gifts in appreciation of their hard work.

Sue then went on to present the medals and trophies to the winners of the club tournament and later chatted to members and posed for photographs. The champagne flowed and we all enjoyed an excellent lunch.

Afterwards many members enjoyed a set or two of doubles, and several new members signed up. All in all it was a brilliant day, enjoyed by everyone there.
