Courts

Coombe Wood boasts seven well maintained courts. Five of these are artificial grass and two are all weather tarmacadam. The grass courts are by far the most popular with members, with the hard courts normally being used for coaching and for play by juniors. You can see the court layout here.

We have a rolling court refurbishment program. Courts 1,2, and 3 were replaced in spring 2009 and the remaining artificial courts will be replaced before 2012.

Floodlighting
All of our courts are equipped with floodlights making it possible to play on dull winter afternoons and through to 10pm in the evening all year round. There is no separate charge for the floodlighting; it is included in the annual subscription.

Clubhouse
Our clubhouse, which was initially built over 50 years ago, was completely remodelled and refurbished over the spring and summer of 2006. It now includes an enlarged general area with glass frontage and views over an extensive terrace to the courts beyond. It has a comfortable lounge area with television, a fully equipped kitchen, changing rooms with showers, disabled facilities, and of course a well stocked bar.

Access to the clubhouse is controlled by an electronic key fob. Members should contact Ian Stewart to obtain one.

Parking
We have a private parking area that is large enough for general use. Later in 2010 it will be completely re-landscaped increasing the number of spaces available to around 36.
