2011 Finals Day

The 2011 finals day got off to a bad start when it rained continually until 2pm. But in the end all matches were played with the exception of the men's plate which was postponed until Friday.

Once again Tim Sagar won the men's singles, making it 8 in a row. Chris Daw fought valiantly and there were some stunning rallies, but Tim was just too strong. The ladies' singles was won by Emma Thompson who beat Louise Davis.

In the men's doubles, Tim Sagar and Ollie Lloyd beat Harry Lloyd and Chris Daw.
The ladies'doubles was won by Natasha Gledhill and Sam Bingham who beat Meryl Lloyd and Racheal Nichols.

The day ended with the mixed doubles final which was closely fought and very entertaining. In the end Natasha Gledhill and Harry Lloyd beat Samantha Bingham and Doan Le.

Meanwhile the ever-popular plate competitions took place on court 6. The ladies' plate was won by Tessa Emslie and Josie Haworth. The mixed plate winners were Belinda Grove and Dominic James. The mens' plate was delayed until Friday 22 April. Malcolm Alexander and Tony Hall were the winners,

The trophies were awarded at the finals night party which this year had a masked ball theme.
